With a HORRIBLE PK call that the G's keeper stopped, Colorado loses at home to the Galaxy... On the march....

Another solid point away from home for us. Opening night fast approaching, and hopefully a few wins on the bounce.

The 'caps were back to where I thought the last few weeks drawing and then losing 2 on the bounce but came back with a 1-0 win against Dallas means we are now 3rd in the Western Conference! Away form is dire though, we will soon slip back down!

The Caps are doing better than I expected, to be honest. I want them to be a good rival to Seattle and Portland.

    Until then...
Enjoy Robbie Keane's celebration after the PK was stopped:

He went out of his way to get in front of the stupid ref to do that...the gang of guys I was with got a huge kick out of it. We ran it back on the DVR about 6 times before going on to finish the game.

An other 1-0 win. I should be happy about picking up another three points.. but the lack of goals is worrying

I enjoyed Adu's cheeky little back heel and a nine man Philly winning over Chivas!

Tomorrow is FC Dallas at home, but Wednesday I am flying to Seattle to take in my first away game of the season. The mrs took a job that has her going up there each week so I am tagging along... I hope to get back to Portland and up to San Jose this season, too.

We're conceding a worry number of goals just recently. Our success was built on a miserly defensive unit. Better is needed.

And the 'caps are now the opposite of this, yet another clean sheet and another win for us! Lee Young-Poo scores, remember him from Spurs fame?

Seattle fans are super annoying, but they love their team, so I have to give them respect for that. 39,000 in attendance.

Donovan, AJ and Juninho were the only regulars starting tonight, and the makeshift lineup was, er, ineffective. Final Galaxy0-2 Seattle. Let's see what happens Saturday?

I got to eat homemade paella before the game and have delicious fresh oysters so I still won.

Brian Perk had a muscle pull or something. Gaudette is not bad at all, just not who has been working with the defense regularly. Nobody could have stopped Montero's ridiculous long bomb, but the Eddie Johnson goal was lost as soon as the cross was made. With that lineup, Seattle should have won 3-0, so because they only scored 2, I feel they suck. How is that for finding the silver lining?

Galaxy v NYRB was the same... Horrible.

Our great plan to increase the offensive was adding an 1899 hoffenheim reservist on loan...

We added Beckham and Keane, then played at home and still lost. Galaxy are broken. Full stop.

Heading over there tonight I think. Will report back. Concentration on the stadium had detracted from some defeats on the road. Lost at NYRB last night, although we had a lot of the game and had more attempts on goal in the 1-0 defeat. Hopefully the new stadium will provide a boost and help us pick up some momentum now. We need a run of results to come together sooner or later.

EDIT: Think I'm going to see USA U17's vs Dynamo Academy tonight at the new stadium for the "soft opening". Will report back on any upcoming stars!

First game today. Was at the new stadium on Thursday for the "soft opening". My word, it's a magnificent arena. They have done a great job. It was interesting to see the potential future of US soccer on show. US U17 MNT had some pretty tidy looking players. I didn't realize that they all go to school together and train together each day. That is a really great idea and I think it will pay off in the long run. I read that something like 30 players have followed this path and ended up with full caps at the highest level. With the lack of decent academy structures in most places, this could really help develop some stars in the future. There was one lad in particular who stood out, playing CM. Not sure of his name, but he dictated the entire game from the middle with his range of passing and reading of the game. Really good player.

I'm about to head out there for the opening game at BBVA Compass against DC United. Nice touch by the league to have DC in town with Dwayne De Rosario and Pat Onstad, a couple of guys synonymous with Houston Dynamo. I'm genuinely excited, I think it will be a great occasion. The first thing I thought when I walked in there on Thursday night was "MLS has made it". This league isn't going away and it's only going to get bigger. The future is really bright for US Soccer. Glad to be a part of it.

It is pretty amazing how well MLS is doing. Congratulations on the stadium opening. I hope you can have a lot of good times there over the years! Looking forward to a visit one of these days.

Looks great! I heard it was hotter than humanly comfortable though. Nice win, too...

Oh it was hot. Really hot. But not as hot as Robertson without any kind of roof cover! It looked as though there were empty seats, but the reality was that a lot people couldn't take the heat and took to the concourse to watch the game out of the sun.

It was a great occasion though and a fitting goal to open the new stadium. Excellent strike from Brad. The new place is awesome, it felt like a football game. The atmosphere picked up once we scored a goal and it seemed fairly loud. But it just felt right, games at Robertson seemed like a social occasion, this felt like football. It really made all the difference.

Oh, and the entire game seemed to be set up for Ching to get a goal, but it just never quite fell for him.

    I had a great time.

another day another loss. 2 goals but gave up 3, and Adu got sent off :dismay: at least it was a nice day for a game.

Slightly disappointing 0-0 at home to the Timbers last night. We dominated the whole game and should have scored from a number of great chances. The one bonus was seeing Boyd play and realizing how lucky we were to escape that curse.

I don't know what's going through Arena's mind but whatever it is, it's not rational thought. When the Gs lost Omar, they loaded up attackers. WTF?

I'm not surprised Arena isn't looking for Califf...nothing he's done since winning the cup makes any damn sense. That said, I don't think Califf is an Arena type player, even when Bruce is in his right mind.

This season is really frustrating. Chivas 'away' this weekend: a bad result will bring out the worst in Galaxy fans. Chivas has been playing well and narrowly losing. The Galaxy have been playing poorly and getting beaten like a drum. Both teams suck, but Chivas is in a better position to upset than Galaxy are to keep the Goats down. Stay tuned.
