Hi, The Yellow Order are in the early stages of designing banners/flags/scarves etc to buy. On behalf of the group I was wondering if anyone could help out with coming up with a logo that could be used for the website, can be printed on flags/scarves/flags and avoids possible breaches of copyright. There may be a few 'Orns in for whichever design is chosen, when I get some 'Orns that is...
You should start by researching other ultra groups and their logos, (I know you're not ultras anymore but you know what I'm saying). Then get some ideas and post what your looking for. There are many talented people on here that will be happy to help. Some of Moogs drawings are top drawer. EG. Something like this but with a footbal, the words Yellow Order and more yellow, (obviously). Maybe use the letter O as a footaball etc etc. The graffiti look always works with younger aged groups.

We are currently using this at the moment, but it's been taken from an American football team or a college or something I'm not sure I know, worth a shot though
The idea for our logo on the top right may have come from the same place. I emailed them several times asking if it was OK to use part of their design in our own logo and didn't get anything back in return. The picture you've posted is very good, I'm sure someone could work on something "similar".
It is pretty common in the states to have a high school or junior high borrow the logo or emblem from a college for their sports team mascot usage. I think last year, finally, a college sent a high school a desist letter which forced the high school to rebrand themselves for the next school year. It all comes down to money. If the high school hadn't sold shirts and hats and sweatshirts that impinged on the college's market, they would never have gotten the letter. It is unlikely the school will seek you out for infringement, but if you become successful and start selling shirts or whatever, then you are open for legal action. I think you are on the right track with developing your own unique copyrightable art work for Yellow Order. That would eliminate any logo and art related problems down the line. The Riot Squad developed their own artwork that specifically never mentions the Galaxy. I will try to post up some samples later as thought starters. The word 'yellow' just makes it seem a teeny bit....soft? I dunno, doesn't sound right to me. (yeah yeah, I know we can't use another colour..)
Hmm, that's the problem. We are considering making scarves to buy that will contain the logo, so if anyone could create something that'd be great. We're all very fond of the current logo but if we are open to legal action then that is a problem. but we'd love something similar The current one was taken from Fullerton College in America...
I think the name needs a bit of work. Something to do with Hornets rather than yellow. Like the hornets nest, although that's a good name for a pub.
What does it look like? Would like something or our own I appreciate your enthusiasm, but your design skills aren't the greatest.... P.S It does not need to contain the words Yellow Order, just a logo using a hornet...
That's more like it but I wouldn't put that to go together with the group. Ask around on the group if anyone is good with Photoshop. Some of the stuff I've seen from friends who have created stuff on there is amazing.
Phew, I've been at work for a few hours, using various bespoke software packages and I've created this. I've created a "Superfan." His face is inspired by the Silver Surfer and Spiderman. I've given him a manly moustache and a cape, like Superman (like Superfan) and also a bandana, like Hulk Hogan. If they don't use this, they are *****.
Not bad, but you want something that stands out, so think about using at least one, (maybe more), colour/s that we don't use as a current team, perhaps from previous bygone years? Using the colours below and perhaps even the logo would give you a lot more credibilty and sell a lot more merchandise. I'm sure many thousands of our fans, myself included, prefer the deep gold/yellow than the current in your face yellow.
Maybe they should have a poll? If they don't use mine, I will and will sell my own merch against theirs.
Btw admin those scarves were on the facebook page, people were voting for which one was the best. So far number 1 is the favourite.
The hornet logos look very "angry". I know hornets can be angry creatures, but are is it the image you are trying to create for the group?
Do you want it mincing around instead? It's already called 'The Yellow Order', let's not try and gay it up even more.
