Thank you sir. Having looked through the roster of each country i've got a better idea/understanding of the quality now. Coming from Europe, i've never really heard of Panama/Guadeloupe playing soccer at a national level because they've never made appearances at World Cups etc. Gold Cup gets little to no expose back home, unless somebody picks up an injury that'll impact their return to the respective club. I can see that the quality of player from those countries that are a little more unknown to me is actually pretty high, with a lot of the players plying their trade both in Europe and the bigger leagues on this continent. Interesting.

Headed to Pasadena to join 90,000 of my closest friends at the Rose Bowl to see USA vs Mexico in the final of the Gold Cup.

In the 2000 Game, USA fans were outnumbered 1000 to one. At Azteca in 2009, USA fans were outnumbered 60,000 to 300. Tonight USA fans will be outnumbered 60,000 to 30,000, so the odds are getting better!

Mexico should win, and these are exactly the type of games USA shows up big in...looking forward to it. I had to pay $130 for a $40 face value ticket. That is HUGE in the states! We are getting some traction.

Enjoy it mate! I'll be cheering from the sofa in my stars and stripes shorts! USA to win 2-0. Watch out for flying objects!

I don't and sadly it is hard enough to find a bar that shows the union, let alone one that carries FSC. Though I am not to upset I missed the Gold Cup.. Great Union game thought, back and forth battle with Chivas and a 3-2 win

Thanks to the Union for donkey punching the Goats!
Vey weird galaxy game today...heard about it?

    As for the Gold Cup...

Shocking dos a cero lead predictably surrendered, and then some.
Freddy Adu had a great game and then all that was undone when Bradley put the most useless American in the world into the game, Jonny Bornstein.

He got scorched for 3 goals and the USA shut off like a light bulb.

    Fire Bradley.

You can take Capello if you like, (please say yes:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:)

I never liked Capello from before he came to England...I recall people on these boards scolding me for doubting his hire back then. However, just about anybody short of of Ruud Gullitt would be a step forward over bumbling Bob Bradley.

Surprisingly, I doubt he will be fired after all this. The US Soccer Federation is so mired in their own stupid games that they are paralyzed to do anything differently. It would not surprise me a bit if the USSF ran with Bradley all the way to Brazil 2014. So terrible.

Glad you made it out alive Fitz!

Galaxy have to be happy with a point after losing 2 keepers. Red card looked harsh to me.

Man, i thought we were going to do it after taking the 2 goal lead. Like you say though, Bornstein got destroyed time and time again and the once solid defence were in pieces. Could have been all so different had Dempsey found the net instead of the crossbar. Dos Santos goal was superb though, an immense finish. Don't know if you noticed in the ground, but Dempsey and Donovan switched before and after the USA took their lead, with Donovan going back up top and Dempsey dropping deeper. After this, we couldn't keep hold of possession and it was something of a barrage. Couldn't understand the thinking behind this. Donovan is clearly the most talented player and he needs the ball more than anybody else. Disappointing.

Adu played really well and looked intelligent on the ball. I think he needs to move back to the MLS and get himself a good run of games. Houston needs a creative player after Koke decided it was too hot within a month of being here and ran home to Spain. A late Ching goal rescued a tie for us at D.C. last night.

You are really getting this US Soccer stuff, Lukey. It is a little depressing, isn't it?

I hadn't heard that about Koke...MLS is a lot tougher than people grasp. So many failures like that.

Here is a pic from our tailgate. I am at center holding the flag with cap...

On the Gold Cup Final from a local LA sportswriter. He doesn't usually write about the beautiful game and when he does, he's sort of naive. He gets this one right on the mark though.

The mexican bloke on the far right with the shirt on , is that the current fashion in Mexico City or is he just wearing a wiggie for the day out ?

Cracking pic Fitz! And a couple of good articles. I watched a fair amount of the Galaxy game and you were good value for the tie, especially with Magee in goal.

Koke is a shame because he showed a few glimpses of real talent. But he wasn't happy with a lack of minutes and I think the heat was just one of many excuses for wanting to leave. The good news is he wasn't being paid much. His contract was effectively a trial period until July, where if he performed, it would be extended and he'd be paid better money. I don't think his performances justified any extra money so I fancy he'd have been disposed of regardless. We need some firepower though. Hopefully there will be a few developments to the roster.

Hoping England can get one over Mexico in the Women's football today!

****ed on by Chivas. Sad times. Hopefully we'll make a few more trades during the window and be competitive enough to make a run for the play-offs.

    Ouch. I hate Chivas.

I fly Friday to Vancouver for the Saturday Galaxy away game against the Whitecaps. Spend a few days there, train to Seattle and one night there, then off to Portland for the Wednesday evening game against the Timbers. The Mrs will join me the day after the game and. We'll hang out there for a few days as a summer vacation before heading home to LA.

I will give my regards to Jay for everyone. For this game, my anti Demerit meter will be set to Bubble level.

You did! I will re read it in a bit for inspiration, but in all likelihood, me and Robert will probably just drink whiskey again all night.

Definitely...but in this case, I think it will be Juergen Klinsmann. It should have been him since Bruce Arena got whacked in 2007.

As for the bald bond, that worked at first. If you watched the team as closely as I have, it is pretty clear that Bob's tactics are basically jettisoned by players in order to succeed whenever they have forged some big win.

It's the players that got us to the Confed Cup Silver, and World Cup Qualification is not a mark of success for the USA and Mexico in CONCACAF.

The most recent Gold Cup reveals Bradley though. We are up 2-0 on Mexico in the 1st 15 minutes when he puts Jon Bornstein in, a player nobody but Bradley loves. In minutes it is level at 2-2, by the end of the match it is 4-2 to Mexico. The moment Bornstein came in, the USA players responded with a no confidence vote on the field, and any chance of winning croaked. He's got no ideas on players, tactics and has lost the team.

My personal support of Bradley ended during the World Cup over player selection and tactics. He brought the right guys and played the wrong ones. It cost us the Ghana match, and made both Algeria and Slovenia way too close.

When the cup was over and Bradley was given an extension, the **** hit the fan.

In which case I recommend the whiskey bar in gas town. The name escapes me but its right next door to a place called the blarney stone and all it serves its whiskey. Google map that ****

Painful amounts of whiskey last night but I am in gas town now... vancouver is beautiful and the 4-0 win was sweet. No DeMerit FYI.

    I will apply Chalky's Razor.

"if he scores a lot of goals, I like the move. If not, I don't."

    Chalky is a guy a I know.

Anyway, first we need to get rid of Juan Pablo Angel... Easier said than done, but I am sure AEG has something up their sleeve.

Actually I would be pretty excited about getting a 22 year old Adu like Philly has scored...I think he is becoming the player he was supposed to be and he has plenty of upside and time to get it in.

i suspect robbie keane will not be liked based on that

I'm perfectly willing to believe that as a likely outcome. He had a pretty good run for Celtic recently, and I'd say MLS and SPL are comparable in many ways. If he has even half of what he had then, Galaxy will return to the MLS Cup which will be held here in LA this year...

If not, well... It wouldn't be the first time the Galaxy signed a loser.

This is the perspective we Galaxy fans see the move in...

Yea the adu sighing was exactly what we needed. our defense has been top but we have had little creativity. I wouldn't mind another offensive minded player in as well. There has been some jpa to union talk going around. Hopefully a move back to the east coast is all he needs
