BIB is strawman beyond belief. Have to applaud it in a way.

Once again the issue of Deeney's wages come up (not jealous and bitter at all, honest!), along with your perceived in-depth fitness and medical knowledge. And he was fit and healthy on the first day of the season - that's why he put in a good performance and assisted our only goal.

I still think he is fat and ****

My thoughts are he's probably played better at other times than this season, but even slightly below that he is a very effective all round striker in this league.

Sure he'd do OK for England, although most really good international strikers normally have one stand out quality like great pace which isn't Troy.

He's definitely better than Rooney these days though!

Surely Troy's standout quality is his strength?

He is a **** for taking a month to get into shape. He should be coming back to pre season at about 90% not starting the season at 50.

Good point. But will this get him goals at international level?

Although thinking about it, against Malta and co., probably yes!

Not necessarily. Will it get the team goals? Certainly.

Perhaps it's because he's a big, ugly Brummie, but I feel as though Deeney is too readily shipped into the 'big, strong, target man' bracket.

Actually, whilst he doesn't have much pace or trickery, I think his ability to read the game and pick the right pass is well ahead of most players in his position. Incredibly underrated as a so-called 'cultured' footballer.

what the hell is the shoutbox?

Allow someone who actually goes to the match to clarify the position: he started **** and is now ace. No need to thank me

Southgate said Troy wasn't picked for England as he couldn't fit through the team coach's doors.

    Pass it on.

Actually, he said he wouldn't have anyone uglier than him in the dressing room.

England duly deliver the underwhelming 2-0. Lingaard did okay though to be fair. No idea how Rooney gets to dominate this England set up.

Good article I can see the line you are going for.
For me if it needs less facts (or more interpretation of what significance they have) and more of a human interest angle. Perhaps some quotes from those involved?
Needs more length before the denouement about Sordell (at least that is what she said.)
For me the paragraph length seems a little wrong, each paragraph should be self contained and they are all similar length and a little short in some cases.

Could you poetically describe what that goal he scored was like?

I think it's pretty well written, it's relatively concise which I like and more to the point it's fresh. It's always good to see an article featuring a different story about a player who has had a plethora of articles about. Well done.

Decent article making a valid point. So many minor, seemingly inconsequential moments that have lead to Troy being the player he is today. Butterfly effect and all that!

I fear that the 'next Troy Deeney' wouldn't get a chance in the current Watford situation (when you look at the likes of Suarez/Layun being cast out having featured in just a handful of games).

Only minor criticism I'd make of the article is the use of the 'pulled from the squad' phrase. From a literary point of view it stands out being used three times in such a short piece.

I like the angle you've taken in the article as it's different. Grammatically, though, the piece is a bit hit and miss and, as a result, I found it quite hard to read at times.

Great item and well written, maybe stress how he turned his life around after his spell in prison, which could have gone one of two ways after he took his punishment like a man and admitted hi offence.
