Malky was talking after the game yesterday about how this side is young and will go through bad spell which is true but I actually think with the likes of Helguson and Taylor in the team now we actually have more experience than at the start of the season when the team were full of confidence and performing well?

A red-herring to mask the real problems at the moment?

The more senior pros are the onces letting the side down..

Even for the goal yesterday I'd like to know why DeMerit or Taylor weren't covering Loach's mad dash on the line.

Totally agree with that, our only real youngsters yesterday were DG, TC and HL. All the others who started and responsible for us being a goal down are experienced in this league or similar

TC and HL may be young but they are supposedly big talents for the future, so surely they should be comfortable playing in this league week in, week out.

Personally i dont think its due to the team lack of experience or that.

The ages of our team yesterday

    21, 23, 30, 30, 27, 20, 30, 19, 27, 32, 24 = average age of nearly 26 :forehead:

I would count only count three of them as youngsters personally that being Loach, Cleverley and Lansbury. Loach has played a fair few games and has been around the first team for a fair while now. And with Cleverley and Lansbury they are argubly our best two players and maybe be classed as two of the most consistent.

Therefore i think malkys arguement is lacking. There just error prone, in need of a change in tactics most of the time its too bland and slow consquently predictable. He struggles to make changes when needing to and near changes the team prior to games which is good at times like when winning or not just for the sake of it but when on a run like this is not good changes are needed!!

Hmm firstly the two things that were wrong with the goal in my opinion.

    1. Cowies man who he was marking was their right back who went round him and he realised too late and couldnt catch him up. Loach then came out to deal with it otherwise he would have been clean through.

    2. As soon as the tackle happened loach was far too slow to get back. He should have started by turning and sprinting then jogging backwards to watch the ball, instead of jogging backwards the whole time hence why he didnt get back in time. But i thought it was a very good effort and strike from ****inson, fair play to him.

    Not that bloody young!

    Loach is 21 (fair enough)

Mariappa is about 23 (he's played over the last few seasons regularly)
Demerit is about 29 (not inexperienced)
Taylor is about 30 (not inexperienced)
Doyley is 28/29 (been regularly playing over the last 9-10 years)

    Cowie is 27 (not inexperienced)
    Eustace is 31 (not inexperienced)
    Lansbury is 19 (fair enough)
    Cleverley is 20 (fair enough)

    Helguson is 30 (not inexeprienced)
Graham is 25 (not inexperienced, but maybe at Championship level)

All in all we have more experience that a few other teams in the league.

When the likes of Hodson and Jenkins were playing, i'd agree with that statement...but neither can get a look in!!

Very true...as I said we were doing better with them in the side!

As for the goal...having seen it fair points made by my fellow "wfc4ever"!

Still think a defender could have done more to get on the line as well..but then its all easy to say sitting there and it may have gone it anyway.
