The seasons over for the Galaxy after FC Dallas masterfully stifled the Galaxy's offense. Former Galaxy keeper Kevin Hartman now between the pipes for Dallas was easily the man of the match. He stopped 3 shots in the first 20 minutes that were amazing saves...

Donovan was absent, Beckham was ineffective, the defense made tactical errors to give away 3 goals...

    Final was 3-0.

The MLS Cup final will be played in Toronto between FC Dallas and the Colorado Rapids. Silver lining: I no longer need to expedite my passport renewal.

By the way, neither team in the final has a "designated player", i.e. Beckham, Henry, etc.

He started grabbing his crotch after he kicked last night. Seemed like a groin pull. Apparently it was discussed at halftime and they agreed to keep him in. Hindsight is 20/20 but he probably should have been allowed to rest. It is hard to do that when he is a huge box office draw. Each time he grabbed his crotch the little girls would squeal...really.

Proof that no one player makes a team.

A shame you didn't make it to Toronto - maybe next year... eh?

MLS Cup went to Colorado in yet another ugly and poorly officiated final.
Dallas was undone by an own goal that made the score 2-1.

Dallas scored a beauty off the foot of MLS Most Valuable Player Colombian David Ferreira. Forget Beckham and Henry and Ronaldinho, this is the kind of guy we need in MLS!

A blatant kick in the chest against Colorado's Conor Casey in the 20' was not only not given a red card and not given a PK, but was then simply called a goal kick.

Casey got into a scrappy rugbyesque scrum allowing him to kick a strike on the ground that went in for Colorado.. Very ugly.

The game went into extra time tied 1-1.

Dallas' George John deflected a cross into his own goal to cap scoring and start off the most frantic and interesting part of the game, but in the end, the score stayed 2-1.

The final was attended very lightly in soccer crazed Toronto. It looked cold as hell on TV. Some folks are starting to understand why the Cup Final should be at the ground of one of the two teams playing, and not at a predetermined random site.

All through the game, I was praying for a sniper attack on the players.

    Season over.

Perhaps introduce a two-legged final played at both teams ground. It seems crazy that fans from Dallas have to travel to Toronto!

You'll have to come over here for your football fix now Fitz, go on see if you can talk Tae into it ;)

That is the most popular suggestion among the fans, but the league has it's own agenda...stupid suits.

I will work on it, Jimbo!

So, MLS Cup finals are not popular, and those without the Galaxy are roughly half as popular.

First day of the off-season and already making deals.. I think Brian Carrol will do a job in our mid-field

Newcastle is playing the Galaxy right now....

A-Leage's Newcastle Jets, that is. It is a money grab by Aeg to help pay the guys lower down the totem pole and sell a few kits from the apparently Beckham shirt hungry continent of Australia.

JPA and Hejduk, Fitz.. going for it all now eh

We'll see...we have the rights to both but have not actually signs deals...
Not sure what the hangup is, but the silence on Angel is troubling.

He could be a real difference maker.

Is suspect the ****ing AEG **** heads are playing JPA possibly signing over to Ronaldinho's people as a pressure. They need to quit trying to get that fat drunk who has difficulty motivating himself to play to try to come to the Galaxy. It will be an unmitigated atomic disaster that will make the Beckman experiment look to be the greatest idea ever.

So Becks is trying to head off to Spurs then.. It seems like he has played more game for other teams than the galaxy while over here.

  16. Fitz

    Fitz Squad Player

Yeah, I really wish we could make him stay in England. He's not helping the Galaxy with all this.

Tottenham looks likely to take Beckham on loan. I wish they would just take him for good. He is not worth the hassle and pain in the arse.

It doesn't mention him, but the results the G's have with and without Donavan are night and day...with him the Galaxy win, and without him they lose.

Ronaldinho will officially unveil the name of his new club today, expected to be Brazilian side Gremio. Here’s hoping Ronaldinho enjoys Brazil, where a player was kidnapped on his way to practice.

I hope more "big name players" snub MLS in the future. Useless.

He would have been a great replacement for Becks..

You can't knock a bloke for wanting to ply his trade in his home league as his career draws to a close Fitz.

How many teams will be in MLS this season then? I know there is the addition of DeMerit's Whitecaps, is it next season the other Canadian 'giant' Montreal join?

    The hell I can't.

    If I may clarify...

I knock the AEG idiots who allow all the horse crap that's gone down to date mostly and disrespect Beckham for making himself available for at most 60% of the matches he should have played in.

If you recall, his torn Achilles happened in Italy whilst playing for AC Milan on one of these damned fool errands that kept off the field in both the US and ironically South Africa.

    He's oldish now.

He needs more time off now than before.

He needs to focus on helping the Galaxy succeed for a change.

Going to Tottenham does not help him make progress with this.

Oh yes, as a Galaxy fan, MLS fan, and supporter of the efforts to grow soccer in the US, being disgusted with this loan move is simple and common here, and not just among Galaxy fans.

To be fair to you my comment does seem to apply quite well to both players, but there's a world of difference between a loan and a transfer.

  31. Fitz

    Fitz Squad Player

Yes, and it is only the loan I have a problem with. A transfer would not be objected to at all by most Galaxy fans at this point.

That old dude needs to rest and relax to help the Galaxy win. Everything else should be secondary, but instead everything else seems to take priority.

I dare say that is what you get when you give somebody that amount of money and importance to go somewhere he couldn't care less about.

He clearly couldn't give a flying **** about Galaxy or the MLS, but because he had so much money thrown at him he couldn't turn it down. Getting somebody in who is only 60% committed to the cause is daft. It was done to raise the profile of the club yes, but perhaps that money could have been better spent elsewhere.

    Agree 100%.
We don't need Beckhams, we need young exciting players who want to make a name for themselves.

He just sees US Soccer as a market, not a place to win championships.
