Did anyone see this last night on BBC Three?

I was shocked to see how incapable most of them appeared. These were supposed to be the top 5 young (18-25 ish) mechanics in the country. Most work in main dealerships so its no wonder why the costs are so huge- they have to pay for staff who can't fix a dodgy bit of wire in under 45 minutes!

Yes I saw it and though exactly the same. It was pretty shocking to think that's the very best we've got . If it's any consolation it was the same with the butchers last week, 4 really poor ones and a stand out winner from round 1.

Main dealers have no incentive to do a good job. They have guaranteed repeat business and generally mroe work than they can handle. Your local independent needs repeat business and word of mouth to survive and probably not enough spare time to go on an unrecognised BBC3 program shown at midnight.

Good program though. Watch out for it next week, it's best young forum moderator.

Unfortunately none of us lot are eligible:dismay:

Anyone that age is incapable, and believe you me, they have to be able to relate to the audience of BBC3, as most of them are hardly the brightest sparks.

Well tonight it was young hairdresser of the year, and you'll be pleased to know they were just as bad. Of the final 3, two of them didn't answer a single question correctly in the interview stage. Even I got one right! It's comical.

Damn- i missed it! too busy watching Apprentice USA- to be fair they have a bit more sense than the UK candidates and are for more straightforward with things. I wish we could be blunt in our business.

True- I guess that's what makes good TV. The same with all the reality stuff I guess. If the X-Factor auditions were full of good singers and the young mechanics were perfect- nobody would watch. I think it's human nature that we get a kick out of seeing people fail. sadly.
