Just testing something. Desperately need something other than music to play on it though. Ideas welcome!

Maybe once a week somehow we could get a live discussion going, where everyone can have their say.

Also if anyone is up for it they could host a show where they play requested songs by other members.

Not sure if it'd would work well or even be worth it, just a thought though.

Also it could do with everything a normal radio station has. Sports section (obvs), weather, news, traffic, discussion and above all a few dj's to present it.

I DJ on an internet station, and yes there are issues with broadcasting music mainly with the PRS (Performing Rights Society) who charge what I think is a huge amount of money to pay, a talk show occasionally would be fine though, If you are interested in setting something up, I know pretty much everything that you would need to do so.

It's sorted. We have to pay a fee depending on how many users are likely to use the service, part of which the streaming hosts pay out to a company that deals with royalties. To reduce the cost a lot of the songs we play contain a link, (on the radio front page), directly to the album it came from on Amazon.

The music isn't the issue, I'd like some scheduled content if possible.

I would be willing to host something if you wanted me too, don't mind if it was a talk show mixed with music, all talk show or whatever. I use SAM Broadcaster, if anyone has heard of that, which uses a shoutcast server (I assume that is what would be used?). PM me if you want me to host something.

Kenneth the 105 year olds radio station. Quality.

This sounds like a good idea but not sure how it will work out, we would need a fair few users to contribute.

I would love to help out. I could do a late night show or something, I'm sure i could get a few mates together and have a bit of banter which would be quite listenable. I know the format as i listen to ALOT of late night radio when i can't sleep.

Pre-recorded shows would be the way forward. Nothing live, too much hassle. MP3 format, 96kbps max.

That's a good idea. I still think pre-recorded would work, but perhaps a shoutbox pub quiz would work too?

I don't think it would be considering all that you need is a shoutcast with 96kbps and about 50 listeners, the programme is free, and I am assuming most people on here have music on there PC.

I might try something, also, if you don't mind. Apart from I don't know if my voice would be the most pleasant sound on the WFCForums airwaves ;)

Meister already had a word in my ear with a similar idea. Spoke to the chaps already and what they currently have isn't really of broadcast quality and would take too much work, but they have something to think about now and might come back with an idea or 2.
