My Missus went into Vodafone today and secured a very good deal!

A free Sony Ericsson (can't remember the model, but it's a new one), £35 a month contract, unlimited texts, 600 minutes anytime to any network, and a FREE NINTENDO WII!

I've been with Vodafone for years and I get sh*t deals! She strolls in, she's with Vodafone two minutes and she's already got a better deal than me!

    Biatch! :dismay:

BMI is useless, it shows Rugby players as obese. The main thing is to get the Body fat percentage test done.

I haven't done a body fat test since I was a nipper! I last did it when I was 18, and I was about 14%!

BMI is a load of sh*t! I don't bother with it, as you say, it shows 18 stone rugby players with a body fat percentage of 10% to be 'obese', so it's a complete waste of time!

Body fat testing is the way to go!

I'd say mine is floating around the 18% mark.

However, I have given myself the target of 12% by Christmas!

Starting from the 1st of June.

Going to have an alcohol free summer (up until football season starts), and joining a gym in the Pompey area with my doris!

I want to get down to a 12% but that'll take a fair few years lol. Managed to keep up the 3 mornings a week before work, and had a PT session on Thursday, so so far so good :)

Alcohol free summer?? Good luck mate !

Yesterdays circuit was a tough one. Different to my usual routine.

He made me do a circuit of Bench Press 1 set of 10 reps, then 15 press ups, then 15 dips without a rest, then after that I get a 2 minute breather, and repeat it another 2 times. Has me on squats, and boxing routine too.

    The usual session is:

    Monday,

3x12 reps Pec-Dec Machine, 3x12 reps Shoulder Press, 3x12 Chest Press, and 3x12 Tricep Extension (I think its called that)

    Followed by 30 minutes X-Trainer

Then ab work usually 3 sets of 12 sit ups.

    Wednesday,

3x12 Arm Curl, 3x12 Leg Press, 3x12 Leg Curl, 3x12 Seated Row.

Followed by 30 minutes on X-Trainer

Then ab work usually 3 sets of 12 sit ups.

    Friday

3x12 Arm Curl, 3x12 Tricep Extension, 3x12 Lat pulldown.

Followed by 30 minutes of X-Trainer

Then ab work usually 3 sets of 12 sit ups

Ok, sounds like a good mix. I'd personally stick more chest/back/shoulder exercises in, as opposed to two sessions of biceps & Triceps. You fatigue/work the smaller muscle groups (biceps and triceps) when you perform chest, back & shoulder exercises.

Has he got you doing any back work?

What cardio are you doing? For example, interval? fartlek? constant pace?

Constant pace mate, but I'm slowly moving to interval now instead.

He hasn't got me on to much back work, but I need to get it added. Thinking of adding Bench press into the 3 day routine I do, what you reckon mate?

Yeah that's good. Should always 'break yourself in' by doing CP cardio first, and then gradually move into interval training when a good base of fitness has been established. Fartlek is for more fun/random programs.

I'd personally say your mix is good, keep Monday as it is, but throw in some upper back work (upright rows with dumbells), keep Wednesday as it is with your smaller muscle routine, i.e. biceps, triceps, lower body etc. Then repeat Monday's work out on Friday.

So you're getting two BIG work-outs on Monday and Friday (which gives your bigger muscle groups tuesday, wednesday and thursday to recover for Friday's session).

How much does he charge you?

Last nights one was a fiver as it was an open day kind of thing. Sessions for an hour cost 35, so think i'll use him more as an adviser and have say a session every 2 weeks or something.

Fair enough, it's about the going rate.

My mate charges £45 a session, but his experience/expert advise is second to none - absolutely fantastic Personal Trainer...I had the good fortune of working with him for three years! He trains a lot of celebs up in London/St.Albans area.
