Any ideas anyone as to who Aidy's interested in bringing in? (Don't answer please Douglas ;))

Just listened to his interview on the 'fishal website and wondered who he was refering to.

Rumours arife on the scum board that we're about to sign Leon Barnett for £2,000,000. If this is the case then bye bye Danny Shittu IMO. Would much rather have Dan here. Let's hope it isn't true...Wolves and Preston have been linked aswell.

Glad to hear Priskin is now fully settled in England...if we play to his strengths, i.e. get the ball into his feet, he'll rip the Championship apart IMO.

To his head more likely - hasn't both his goals been headers?

A left back, a centre back (not a scum krunt please) and at least one if not two forwards.

Not heard anything in terms of what two defenders he is interested in.

I guess we haven't irons in the fire striker wise as they were certain DJ was coming.

Well he is always hoping and positive in public...is Aidy feeling so confident in himself though?

i stil want carlton cole. Im seriously starting to wonder if we'll make play-offs next year, we relied heavily on foster and young last time, if we don't get a replacement for henderson as a target man i personally think we are foocked as far as promotion ambitions are concerened, also we have to try and hold on to bouazza and shittu (as long as bouazza plays comitted) , maybe just me being negative but thats my opinion.

I don't speculate. Aidy gets paid to look at players and make decisions, I don't :(

I'll comment when I've seen them play.

I would be suprised if Shittu were to leave after starting today, that has actually made me feel a lot better about the whole situation. I actually think that if Barnett was to come here it would more than likely be Carlisle to leave or even know one at all. Despite being a scummer it would be a good signing IMO (although £2m is too high).

Don't reply to the thread then

There is no chance Aidy will ever sell Clarke "slow as a f**king rocking horse" Carlisle! He thinks the sun shines out of his backside and happens to rate him (for some reason beyond me).

Barnett is a very average defender playing in a truely woeful team! Shittu is five times the player Barnett is...why fix it when it's not broke? Shittu is still a Watford player, Barnett isn't...we don't need him as long as Shittu stays!

We'll see if Shittu stays...I for one doubt it!

Bubble - I reckon Barnett wouldn't be a bad signing. Once you get past Demerit/Shittu our long-term strength in the centre of defence is knackered. He'd provide handy competition.

There were rumours earlier in the summer for Tomas Radzinski and Ismael Miller. Don't know about the latter, but if he got some form together Radzinski would be better at this level than almost all of the players we missed out on - not for long mind - but perhaps enough to do a Rocket Ronnie type job.

Of those not mentioned Danny Haynes of Ipswich - though probably not for sale, might be worth a big investment.

We definitely need another striker. You only have to ask the question what happens if Marlon gets crocked/locked up/sold/cheesed off to know that.

If we got Barnett i wouldn't be as against selling Shittu (providing we sold him for a million more than we paid for him). Though Barnett plays for scum and wasn't that good in their first championship season, 3 counties etc gave him good reviews last year (though there is a chance he was a poor player in an obviously even poorer team so looked better than he is).

Shame we missed out on D.J and H.H though, sounds like Aidy thought at least one of them would have been ours - there must be someone out there!

we have agreed terms with Mr Magoo - but he is having great difficulty signing the contract.

Clue on big dan - he can't be sold if no one makes an offer.
Hammer - wants to play in the premiership - very likely to go but the fee could be too high for clubs to gamble on.

Darius - has the right to leave and that is almost 100% certain he will - cannot build a player up like last season in the premier and then kick him in the teath 3 months later. DH played his testicles off in a very dire scenario. He would be a good buy for sheff utd and we could add on Kabba as a free gift for colins leaving present.

For some reason, I think Big Dan will stay.... as you say, someones gotta come in for him and there dont appear to be any takers.

If he does go then we need to go back for Calum Davenport at West ham??? (i think) who'll def be surplas to requirements

Boozer's agent IMO is pushing the move, NOT Boozer who im sure respects Watford for giving him his chance and making him what he is... he'll go for about £3m with add ons (or more than likely the good old UNDISCLOSED FEE BOLLOX) bit like Bryn Gunnarsson!

Totally agree PYA, Darius deserves a move IMO... publicly crucified all last year (although to be fair NOT by Aidy!)

Ive gotta say, things do look a little bleak at the moment!

No mate, things at Leeds look bleak, we just have to iron out a few creases before the season starts.

Transfer fees are one thing, wages another.

Take Lee Cook.(I know many would)

    He's on a reported £18000 a week.

That's £936,000 a year - he's going to get £3,744,000 for his four year contract and that's before bonuses.

If thirteen of a squad are on that, its £12 million a year. We've a current squad of 33!

The parachute cash would never support the first team wage bill alone should the club not win anything.

And that will run out before a three year contract is up.

It seems we want Rolls Royce players for Ford Fiesta money. Not going to happen.

The only place i would take that fat judas krunt is to a cliff and then push him off.

Just shows you how mad football has become when a little **** like that can earn that sort of dough.

jobr -`that ****` (who probably kept QPR in the division last season) is being talked up as a future England player by Sanchez.

    And Sanchez is a moron.

Big Dan is fast for his size in a straight line, but much like the bulldozer he is akin to he goes round corners with the grace of a Buckingham Palace. He is very over-rated and if we get an offer over £3m I would snap it up.

I don't think our CBs are as bad as everyone thinks. Not the greatest, but certainly Shittu/Carlisle/Demerit/Jackson (who I havn't seen play mind) appears better than a good few teams around us.

Our defence was our biggest weakness the season we went up and other then Shittu our defence is probably worse this season than it was then. We still have the erratic DeMerit, Carlisle who has been out for half a season and wasn't even that good before he got injured and now have Jackson instead of Malky who was very good for us.

We've also been weakened elsewhere defensively with Mariappa at right-back instead of Doyley and Poom instead of Foster.

    Exactly!

Sanchez never did anything at club level at Wycombe apart from one very good cup run! Other than that absolutley nothing! He'll get found out just like Aidy did last season!

Noooo. My West Brom supporting mate would love that (especially if we actually paid money for him!) because they can't wait to see the back of him. I accept he has skill, but from what i've heard he has an attitude problem and looks lazy in most games. Though i guess those are the choices of players we are left with now: skillful players with issues or unskillful players who give 100%

Has a proven record at this level. Ellington has never really been given a fair go at WBA, always in and out the side, also had a few injuries there!

Ellington just needs a fresh start again elsewhere and you'll see him scoring again like he did for Wigan! Ellington and King upfront is a partnership i'd like to see!

How much do you think would be a reasonable offer for him, and will WBA sell? I can't answer these two, what do you think?

I don,t want Hendo to go but it looks like he is on is way out, Aidy has made a mistake.

If he does go I will have some good memories of him.

    • The goal at Luton
    • Leeds United when he got sent off
    • His first goal for Watford against who - PNE
    • The penalty at West Ham
    • And who can forget Cardiff

I think WBA would want £4 million for him - but a reasonable offer would be £2/3 million because i think he'd want very high (premiership) wages as well - i think he is only 2nd to John Hartson (who like Ellington has also failed to make an impact).
However if he came here I agree he and Marlon would be a potentially awesome strike force if the fresh start does the trick (like it was for Marlon!)

Well to be honest mate I think WBA would be mad to sell a player that COULD get them 25 goals this season! If however he was allowed to leave I think £2-3 million would entice them into accepting! Well I certainly think he's far far better than DJ Campbell!!!

Thanks, I am not so sure they would sell but £2-3mil would be reasonable.
