Just wanted to point out Aidys comment about us having the "best two wide players in the league" at the club By this, who does he mean from Boozer, McAnuff and Smith? Assuming its Boozer and McAnuff, where does that leave Smith and does he have a future at WFC? Or did he actually mean McAnuff and Smith knowing full well that boozer is on his way? What do ya reckon girls and guys?
non non non monsieur, youve got me wrong... im just curious what "people" perceive to be our best two wide players thats all. I think he means smith and mcanuff based on his comment about smith being our best player last season.
I reckon either Bouazza or Smith (Derby will come calling!) will be gone before the start of the season but if one did go, I still reckon we would have two of the best wingers, not sure on them being the best though! Like UEA's comment, I think Adie might actually see Bouazza as a striker more than a winger though.
Youve normally got it all together aflynn... your response has left me a little bewildered Couple of things.... first, surely it hasnt escaped your attention how much the club HATE us talking amongst ourselves hence mb's getting shut down and second, i think he's got more important things on his agenda other than to worry about whether we chat or not I was only asking a simple question!!
Will they? They got promoted without him didn't they? Who cares who he meant, as long as all 3 do their job well we'll be back in the Prem!
Interesting re derby.. if they come straight back down and we go up then yes, maybe. I think their fans are a little pished at him though....
It aint half hard to stick a comment on here without being shot down by people like you.. sometimes wonder why anyone actually bothers to post.
well i would put bouzza and jobi as our est two wingers, but smithy played very well last season so iam not sure prehaps he was referring to the fact that whoever he plays out of those three on the wing will be the best two wingers that are playing in the championship at that given time
Haha maybe but then surely that would mean we've got the best three wide players? Ok then, can anyone name any better wide players in the Champ? Also, seeing as he reckons he's got the best 2, this must mean that the other wide player in question is either from the Prem or from overseas no?
who cares...the wide players we have got are "the wide players we have got" what does it matter whether they are the best or not in the division..no need to argue the point here..no point to argue! Personally I think Aidy has said this (knowing he has 3 great players) as a bit of psychology to those players..Its not really mean't to be anything for the fans but a comment which might boost the self belief/confidence of those players within the camp and perhaps create a bit more competition between them....just my thoughts....waits for the flame thrower
Smith must be the slowest winger in the league as well but I agree he will be a threat in this league with Bouazza. Not sure about Jobi...seems rather hit and miss but have to wait and see.
I don't know which of the three are the two best in the league, but even if Bouazza, McAnuff and Smith are the three best wingers in the league his comment about having the two best is still accurate.
I never meant to shoot anyone down, it wasn't meant to be derogatory in any way, just a light hearted comment that as long as all three do well we should go up automatically...
i think he meant kabba and stewart. smith, bouazza and mcanuff are purely copeting fo the bench would you say mcanuff is more like smith or bouzza, i cant really rememer seeing him
Just proves you don`t need blistering pace to be effective (particularly if you rely on team mates to keep up with you). Smithy just mesmerises defences, as they keep expecting him to accelerate away, and he just changes direction at pedestrian speed. If he was good last season the Championship should be a `cake walk` for him.
lol @ Smith being the slowest winger. He aint that slow. Plus he is good at twisting in and out. Pace isnt everything anyways because I'm sure one of his best games was against Gael Clichy who is ****ing quicker than quick :]] Smith always manages to get to the byline or though sometimes he left to it going out of play. Smith will do well this season.
Looks like its Smith and McAnuff then... that or Aidy is trying to bump up a players price AGAIN! (see Ashley Young)
To be fair he has been doing that since he was 17 with his jink left, jink right, jink left, guess where im goin next?........you guessed it onto his right foot to try and get the cross in!
There were plenty of times Ash booted a cross off into the Rookery, or put in a pathetic spooner into the box where it was simply caught. It doesn't mean they are a bad player. The fact is, Smith has a knack of getting the ball down the line, which is what wingers do. Frankly, I care not how he does it, but that he keeps doing it and learns to be more consistant with is f*cking crosses :]]
