I thoroughly recommend the Thyssen-Bornemisza and the Reina Sofia which I prefer to the Prado. Use the metro, it's cheap and easy and the traffic in the centre around the old town can be a nightmare.
Have got to get a train to Alicante, early morning, so want to stay near Atocha station, whats the area like in that area?
It's by the cultural quarter so it's OK and there are lots of hotels. I have stayed at the Rafael Atocha in the road beside the station. It was OK - convenient and cheaper than the city centre.
Take a coat if you're going to Madrid. The height above sea level makes it much colder than the rest of Spain at this time of year.
It is a fairly small city, the old town is nice and the stadium if I remember is in quite a posh/business area. No crime trouble like barcalona.
i was in barcelona the last week, barca is not too far from alicante. the weather is cold. rained the first 2 days i was there, but by the end of the week it got hot
palacio de gaviria (spealt something like that) night club, full of every age, u can have flamenco in one room, ballroom in another , disco in another and bars all round..definately worth a visit..
This sounds like a fekking horrific, community centre night spot. All they need is a line dancing room and I would be in hell.
