..looks a good a player. I have now seen him play twice for the reserves and has impressed me in both games. He also looks good from set-pieces as he has had in the last two games I have been too a header cleared off the line. If anyone else has seen him play what do you think about him
ive seen the lad a couple of times, hes been out for a while with injuries i heard, scored a cracking goal against scunthorpe, should be one for the future i hope!!!
he plays center back, strong in the air, quite quick, does the simple stuff when required, looks promising for an eighteen year old
Can Play In Midfield,as He Did Last Season And Didnt Do Too Bad,they Should Loan Some Of The Decent Ones Out For More Experience
Aidy never talks about any of the younger kids.... then again im guessing he doesnt want them getting poached by some of the bigger guns. None of us could have predicted O toole getting a run this year Signing Ainsworth must have been a blow to the likes of Campana too I say we should give the kids a go
just been reading other threads about no money and how much has been wasted on various things and bringing in players on loan. so get rid of the big time charlies, let some decent young ones start on the bench,im 100% sure there are at least three, maybe four youngesters out of ten, that are good enough to start making an impact on the first team,if not, whats the point in paying them a wage???
Crystal Palace had five 17 year olds in their team last match I think we should be giving players like Campana a go in the first team.
O'Toole looked quite good and enthusiastic when he played and got a decent go in the team. However, his lack of experience and positional sense showed at times. If we are serious about getting automatic promotion then we need more than quite good and enthusiastic. Obviously we should give O'Toole and other youngsters experience in the team when we can and when they are ready, but when the games are as important as they have been of late, we need to be choosing players primarily on their current ability rather than their potential. In answer to your final point, we are paying the players in the hope that they turn out to be good enough for the first team in the near future, or maybe will be good enough to sell to other clubs. Plus, I doubt we pay most of our youngsters very much.
we do pay the academy players a wage of some sort, approx 90 quid a week!! they have to live in digs and have a army regime for time table. Is it any wonder that most, not all, leave for being home sick away from their families,if we want to have more than decent young players, home grown if you like, then we have to treat them with alittle more softly softly approach for a while, they have left home, come to a place where they dont know anyone.and shoved ina place where theirs a curfew on when they get in and leave. im not saying we should bow down to them and give them everything they ever wanted, but alittle acknowagement from senior management wouldnt go a miss now and then
Aaron Beech Went to the match Wednesday Youth cup Beech deff best player on the pitch from both teams and to stand out as a centre Back quite an achievement played an hour then serious head injury but a really strong defender, great in the air and a tank physically My friend scouted for Spurs and they have been to watch him last season so lets hope we keep him .
i went on wednesday as well,we had a good first half but ipswich number 8 ran the show in midfield. I agree with what you say, beech was solid and the cracks did show when he got strechered off, heard he's ok now tho,he got a right smack on the side of his head. I think that he should stay at watford or go somewhere of the same standard, whats he gonna do at spurs?? sit in the reserves for two years??
ive just been on ther web site and saw that liam henderson and dale bennett have gone to wealdstone for job experience!!! henderson,i can understand...but bennett???? we got better academy players than him who shud go and get more experience, bennetts slow, doesnt think quickly and all one footed.
right then, call me sentimental but ive been following the progress of this nineteen year old for a while as i heard good reports about him, but,as ive been busy for a while,i let it all slip...until now..and low and behold ,i cant find him on any of the web sites!!! have they now let him go? if so,where to? or if hes still at the club, why isnt he playin in the reserves?? can anyone shed any light on this player? it looks like hes just disappered!!!
He is in the reserves listing. http://www.watfordfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/Reserves/0,,10400~1370642,00.html I assume he is injured at present. I don't think they'd a player with that ability to just go. Anyway the youth set up despite all the axed staff looks very rosy.
I used to play with this guy at chiltern at the age of 11 and he has true class ... he will have a premiership status within the next 3 years garenteed ... on his way back from 3 ops but trust me ... David Moyes (man UTD manager in 3 years) will have his eye on this Guy for sure
