Sheffield Wednesday for Chris Brunt, according to the "Sunday People" but apparently they have turned us down :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: Par for the course or what!!!
Chris Brunt (born December 14, 1984 in Belfast) is a football player for Sheffield Wednesday. He grew up in Belfast, where he attended secondary school at Wellington College. He began his career playing for St. Andrews FC youth football teams, during which time he had trials with top English professional teams such as Manchester United and Middlesbrough, eventually signing for the latter. Currently with Sheffield Wednesday, he is a former Middlesbrough left-winger with eight caps for Northern Ireland. Brunt is a free-kick expert and skilful winger. After achieving promotion to the Championship with Wednesday he went on to hit seven goals the following season, finishing the campaign as the club's top goalscorer. During the 2006-2007 campaign Brunt passed the 100 appearance mark for Wednesday, making him the clubs current most experienced player, He has also won the Owls' Player of The Month competition 6 times. After scoring a number of wonder goals in the 2006/07 season, Brunt revealed he eats gummy bears at half time to energise himself for the second half. Looking for a left winger, does that mean Macca, and or Bouazza are on their way?
I'm not suprised they turned down £1M as that's a pretty derogatory offer. Somebody on here said they heard Bouazza was on his way to spain whilst i think Macca's time at Watford is coming to an end.
Thats the problem, whilst we might have the money.. sheff weds are unfortunately a bigger club so I cant see him coming to us! Would be a good signing though and definitely an improvement on what weve got.. good age too (22). .
maybe was just a bid to test the water hopefully he'll be heading our way in the summer as is another good young player
There's nothing to stop us bidding now and negotiating with the club or player it just means his registration will go through when the transfer window opens and he'd join us then.
better this way as makes it harder for other teams to follow what your doing and also means managers have more time to plan for the next season
I saw him play against Saints at end of January, and he had their defence rocking on several occasions. He is very skilled and pacey, although he tends to cross from deep rather than using the corners. I think he is worth £1.5 million at present (but could turn out to be anything with good coaching).
