Today the Daily Mail linked us with Damian Scannell. From tribalfootball: Watford are eyeing 21 year-old striker Damian Scannell, of Nationwide South side Fisher Athletic. Aidy Boothroyd has already handed Scannell a trial and sent scouts to watch his recent performances, says the Daily Mail. Scannell has been in good form, scoring a second half hat-trick in last month's 5- 0 FA Trophy win over Hayes. Will he bought in to be bled through the reserves and then broken into the first team?
this is stupid. the main priority is to keep us in the premiership. if we stay up, aidy and the others can sit down over the summer and look at young prospects and bringing them in, NOT NOW!!!!!! we need actual good players who will keep us in the prem right now. aidy should be looking at them
I don't mind if we sign players like him now, so long as the board/Aidy don't try to claim they are the solution to our current predicament. Six months experience in and around a Premiership squad would probably suit the lad well for competing for a first team place next season.
Exactly. Thats why I think scouting Bulgaria, Romania etc is a silly move. Don't go miles away when a majority of players available/in our price range are no more than 200 miles away. The summer is the time to travel/scout/buy on the continent!
Latest on Damian Scannell. This was reported today. The Conference South striker has been on trial with the Hornets in recent days and featured in a reserve team match. Does any know who against? Did anyone go?
I'm feeling left out. Has everyone else in the country been on trial at Watford this week? I wasn't asked
