tell me that we willl stay up even though the media and tv are against us, people seem to have a soft spot for WFC. These are just people i chat to in everyday life. They support another team or love footie like we all do. Are they just being nice? Do you get the same reaction when chatting to other people?
50/50 split now. They all agree that we have a good team spirit and great manager, but it’s the lack of a goal scorer that is killing us, and the reason why some are now saying we will go down. The other 50% say if we can get a good striker in Jan and some squad depth, we could have a better 2nd half to the season adding ‘you only have to win 10 more games!’
My matges are adament we're going down but my Spurs supporting colleague at work thinks we'll stay up.
my watford friends stay they are confident we'll syay, up, others think that watford lack depth and quality to survive in the premiership.
the majority I have spoken to say that they would like to see us stay up but are sure we wont.. that we dont have what it takes at the moment.
Personally couldn't give two sh**s what people think of us or our chances! I enjoy being hated for playing 'direct football' It's funny listening to opposition fans saying before the matches they'll hammer us, and then when they haven't beaten us they moan about our style of play! (villa fans in the moons before the game) No one likes us, We don't care, We are Watford, Super Watford, We are Watford, Long ball team...
that is the sort of song that should be sung loud and proud, yet the plastics continue to stamp their feet to Mellow Army at every opportunity.
Have to say its going to be a real struggle for you lot to stay up now, the dreaded christmas league table is nearly upon us and you know what usually happens to the team thats bottom at Christmas, and with Reading and then Liverpool coming up I will be surprised if your not still bottom going in to the new year. Recent results have also gone against you with Sheff Utd winning two on the bounce and Charlton and Newcastle winning in midweek. RES
after sheff utd i dont think anyone has said to me we will survive. plenty of your going downs, but no you will survives.
We have 3 banker points coming up on the 23rd of December ;D Mooney, mooney, mooney... I hope you're wrong RES, but I feel you maybe right...i can't see us turning enough draws into wins at home...this is where the main problem is! This is because we don't have a striker to stick the ball in the net! Main target is to stay in touch with 17th place until we can sign a couple of strikers in the window!
Harry Redknappp has made some shrewd buys on the cheap, Kanu and Andy Cole., if Watford were able to do the same you never know, I know it will never happen but Robbie Fowler on a loan deal till the summer would have been perfect, would keep him match fit so LFC could perhaps get one more season out of him next year and would bag some goals for you, he hasn't got the pace anymore but his speed of thought and movement is top drawer, and he still knows where the goal is.
Fowler is EXACTLY the type of player we need! We need someone that has experience of scoring at this level (not many better than Fowler)! A loan deal would be fantastic...do you reckon we would get him if Aidy enquired? We put so many crosses into the box we just lack someone that has the ability to get into the right areas to finish them off (poacher) He'd certainly get the service from Young and Bouazza!
I think Rafa is quite pleased with Robbie at the moment, he never moans, just works hard and takes his chance when called upon. He is a great player to have waiting in the wings if one of the main strikers isn't fit, tends to use him in carling cup matches, or games like the other night in turkey. He'll probably start next week in the Carling Cup against Arsenal, wouldn't be surprised if he bagged one that night as his record against Arsenal is brilliant. I think if Aidy enquired, he'd be told politely to bog off.;D
Hmmm annoying, although if Liverpool are bought out before the window closes surely Rafa will be given funds to buy more younger quality upfront?! Hope so anyway, because Fowler would be the missing piece of our jigsaw!
Thats very ture, at best I can only see Robbie at Anfield one more season after this, but I think Liverpool are in need of a Robbie Fowler of ten years ago if they are ready to seriously challenge Man U and Chelsea and the takeover (if it goes ahead) might just help to get that type of player in. We shall see. I think if Robbie doesn't get another contract out of LFC then he might retire, he's got his fingers in a few pies outside the game.
