I've annoyed a City fan!

Look at what a city fan wrote in reply to my comment I posted on the Manchester Evening News site. I take my hat off to his loyalty about 'avoiding games'!

"Stu,Watford I accept your excitement at seeing a 0-0 draw as opposed to watching the traffic lights changing back home but City fans only get excited at the site of good football which is something a Watford fan has never seen as you've won nowt.Since when did kickin the ball as high as you can constitute a game of football. As Brian Clough once said if football was meant to be played in the air then the sky would be covered in turf!!!!! I wouldn't swap my season ticket for ten of yours because I would have a stiff neck. From a footballing point of view it would be better if teams like yours (wimbledon mark 2) do not gain promotion as you are driving fans away.I for one will be adding you to the list of matches to miss (IF you stay up) along with Boro,Bolton,Blackburn Sheff Utd. As your manager squirmed at the aftermatch sky reporters comments about entertainment and responded with 'entertainment is not a priority' sums him and your team up."

If you want to view the city fans views (and maybe make a few comments like me!) here's the link:

Last night I thought we played some cracking football at times! There was a move towards the end of the game that must have been about 12-15 passes before Noddy ran out of room for the cross! When Lee's in the side we tend to get it down more!

Was it me or every time Dunne and Distin recieved the ball did they not hoof it miles in the air towards samaras and corradi?

Pot kettle and black springs to mind!

    Northen numpty...

Oh and Aidy's right, entertainment isn't what we're here for...results are!!

Why do teams complain about the way we play after they fail to beat us?

Surely if its that dull and rubbish the likes of Spurs,Man City should be hammering us...or can they not cope?

I do understand that our long, high ball approach is sometimes not as exciting to watch as the skill of manure or the ars for example. But to say that hes not going to support his team at a match against us is pretty pathetic.

Last night we played some very nice football, and it was a quality match, hes a bit of a fool tbh.

football is as much about making the other team lose as making you win, all the big teams do it, stopping the other team from playing.
man city are alsoo boring, the words 'mid-table' springs to mind.

I guess he wants to see an exciting 3-2 game but would ofcourse be moaning if City had lost!

Its the old question...does somebody want to see a 1-0 win un a dull tense game or a defeat in a cracking high quality match full of great passing/goals?

The Premiership is even more elitest than it was 7 years ago. I find that a lot of my mates who support Premiership teams (and have season tickets) really do not have a clue about football outside the top division (even outside the top 10 clubs sometimes). This really disappoints me and can't be good for football. I always look at the lower leagues and look out for clubs i have a soft spot for, I think this is half the fun about football sometimes.

The annoying thing is when a Bolton fan of mine turns around and asks how Watford did this weekend, I mean we're in the same division aren't we? Watford aren't that invisible are they?

I've had my say! I had to after some City numpty claimed we're a pub side with thugs in our side!

    1. Thugs....erm, Ben Thatcher anyone?
    2. Pub team...erm, says alot for City if they can't beat a pub team at home!

we'll have to accept that everyone will jump on the it - said - on - motd - watford - cant - play - football - bandwagon.
we cant argue with everyone, just say 'if you say so' to them or something and get on with it.

Last night was not pretty but it got us the result.
My Everton mate keeps saying ‘where’s the attacking creative side that I enjoyed watching on the TV last season, your games this season have been boring, why can’t you play like Reading etc’ The simple answer is our players, despite all the determination in the world, are not good enough to play how we played last season. This has become more obvious since we lost King.

However here are the positives: We have caused problems for all sides, even those that have beaten us. Also we are certainly not a defensive side, always committing players forward, (we’re one of the few sides to go to Arsenal and not just sit deep for 90 minutes). Our style is not pretty but it is the best way for us to play, and it shows how much determination the players have to win and that has earnt us some praise from the professionals in the game.

Christ we miss King terribly! If he had been playing last night i'm convinced we'd have won that!

We look strong at the back now, midfield is hard working with little creativity but that's where the wide players come into it! All we lack now is a partner for Young, as much as i love Hendo he's only good enough in my opinion for a subs role!

The two things we really lack at the moment:

    1. A goalscorer
    2. A decent final ball

If we'd have had these over past 4-5 games we'd be outside the relegation zone - FACT!

We need to keep in touch with 17th place until January when we can bring more players in to keep us up! A win saturday and a point at Newcastle will do very nicely to begin with!

A win would be very nice but I’d be satisfied if we got a draw Saturday and a draw at Newcastle, both tough games. But hopefully the performance against City will give the team that little bit extra to spur us on to victory. Also Hendo should be up for it, what with being sold by Reading.

Hmmm don't entirely agree mate, i think we NEED to win saturday! Very important to win your home games, paticularly when Reading are hardly world beaters! Agreed a draw at Newcastle is a good point but we need to win our winnable home games!

    Reading (h) 3 pts
    Newcastle (a) 1 pt
    Liverpool (a) 0pt
    Arsenal (h) 0 pt
    Wigan (h) 3pts
    Fulham (a) 1 pt

I think that's realistic...any less and we really are struggling!

On the BBC site they have been slating us as well a lot (including some so called Watford fans!):

Notice the last comment from the guy who said he would rather lose 6-0 to City's local rivals than play us!

Not exactly a real fan there!

Fools all of them. I doubt we'll be on Sky much anymore, but I don't care. Being on Sky is rubbish it means stupid kick off times.

We'll be on a couple more times after the turn of the year, Sky have to show each team a certain number of times. At a guess though they'll probably choose Watford v Charlton and one other match.

I think our football is damn exciting - always loads of corners, shots on and off target and very much end to end, rather than dily dallying passes back and forward in midfield.

If we were actually scoring goals every vagina and her brother would be raving about us. People want goals more than anything, something we got loads of last season.

Absolutley! I'd much rather we got the ball forward quickly and played attacking football rather than putting 10 men behind the ball sheffield utd style!

Passing football bores me to tears to be honest...that's why i can't watch european football/international matches!
