C+P From Watford FC Website HORNETS midfielder Ben Gill has joined Cambridge United on loan for a month. Ben Gill Gill, who turns 19 next Monday, joins the Us to gain some valuable experience of first team football, playing in front of decent crowds. He will return to Vicarage Road when his spell ends on 4 November, 2006. Cambridge have started to pick up form aftert a disastrous start to the season that saw them pick up just one point from their opening seven league games. United boss Jimmy Quinn was keen to take Gill as the Harrow-born youngster is versatile and can play either in central midfield or at the back, all areas where the Conference outfit need cover. Fellow young professional Joel Grant is currently enjoying a loan spell with Aldershot in the same league. Everyone at the club wishes Ben good luck during his time at the Abbey Stadium. I hope he does well as I think he is a promising youngster.
He's quality, and as he's from Harrow he must be a top bloke too It's nice to be in the position of loaning out our players to give them experience.
SORRY ,BUT DO YOU HAVE TO PUT EVERY POST TITLE IN UPPER CASE! with ben gill, he is a young talent, i have not seen him perform, but aidy sees something in him, should be a good learning curve for the guy, getting 1st team opportunities.

Taken from the original post... first line tells you mate! Its not unusual for a player to go on a month by month, theres nothing to say he wont stay there longer, it could be a case of getting him match fit so he has more of a chance of getting a reserve game with the view to getting him a possible first team game in the near future. He is a good player so it is likely that Aidy has a view to getting him more involved in the first team squad in time to come... we all know how much Aidy values our youth.
Its good for him i think, he needed some 1st team football, and he will get it at cambridge. He just needs the experiance, once he has that, he will be a better player.
